Since Howard Mortman’s and Chris Brown’s material was so interesting, I decided to make two videos for this event.
Howard talked about C-SPAN’s online video archive. He encourages everyone to use the archives. At the beginning of his talk, he emphasized that no government money is used to support C-SPAN.
A lot of the footage is in the public domain, thus can be used freely since nobody owns the copyright. If organizations wish to use a few of the copyrighted clips within their projects, they may do so under fair use laws. I included a piece of Chris Brown’s talk because he showed a great use of C-SPAN’s news archives. I especially liked this example because it was about Meg Whitman, a female leader in technology, business, AND politics.
