I think its funny lately when I meet people who aren’t entrepreneurs or new media professionals and they ask what I do. Since these people generally don’t need to know my background, or exactly what it is that I do, I keep my answer short. Usually my response is something along the lines of my mission statement, “To UnHollywood New Media by featuring Smart Women.”
At an entrepreneur meeting last week, that answer got a lot of oohs and aahs, and everyone was referring to Smart Women for the rest of the meeting. When I meet anyone else, especially engineers, I get a look of total bafflement.
I’m OK with this. They don’t need to know how that’s a business. Yet. As long as they’re on board with the goal.
