This afternoon I’m browsing through info about PayPal, Authorize.net, Heartland Payment Systems, etc. to learn about different fee structures for accepting credit card payments.
So, to be able to sell stuff on the internet, you have to:
1. Have a web site (duh)
2. Have links to a shopping cart
3. Have a credit card processing company that interfaces w/credit card companies
Apparently credit card companies don’t deal w/small businesses directly. They go through an accounting middle-man. Maybe even a middle-woman. Just think of all the 3rd party businesses supported by ecommerce. So I need to find the middle-women that offer pricing structures that work with my product prices and expected sales volume.
